fix: allow using CRLF and LF #17

I just wanted to check if there's a chance to get this merged.

Hi @ctron, thank you for the reminder. I did not have the opportunity to look at this yet, but I blocked some time in my calendar already.

That being said, I think we will need to discuss whether we can merge this PR as-is, but let's use the corresponding issue for that.
