USB Defect #572

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Load a ROM
2. Wait approximately 10 minutes
3. Exit to main menu

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I am using a Western Digital 1TB HD with a 1GB FAT32 partition.
Before returning to the menu, a popup occurred that displayed "saving". When 
returning to the main menu, an error message occurred that said something to 
the effect of "Error loading USB directory". I figured this was because my hard 
drive had spun down. However, upon plugging my hard drive back into my desktop, 
I found all information (ROMS, saves etc.) on the partition had been erased.

Does this issue occur on SNES9x for Windows 1.52? If so, please report the
issue on the Snes9x forum.

Yes, I am using version 4.2.4 from the auto-update

Using homebrew channel 1.0.8
