User Consult - Navigating Collections via Screen Interface

A reassessment of on screen collection navigation and sorting

"Scrollbars" - the expanse of the collection is represented in a bar running left to right - the position and size of a cursor represents position of the view and focussed cover relative to the whole collection - users navigate by grabbing and moving the cursor across the bar, or by the users clicking a position along the bar.

Scroll buttons - 'digital' - single title - scroll speed dynamically increases with time that the button is held and 'analog' - an on-screen scroll speed and direction joystick

Current sorting

• alphabetical
• favourites only
• do/don't include hidden titles with a code lock

n.b HIDDEN TITLES function has been spoofed for different purposes - I'm unclear on this wiimpathy's work - I'll ask Tetsuo

Extended sorting functionality Within the user history - all titles, including Wii and Emulators

• most played
• never played

• most recently played - could be used as variable for heat glow behind titles that 'cools' as the time since played increases etc.

• Icon based metadata sorting for Wii & GameCube Titles only - using the extended "categories V.4.ini" I am very unsure of it's implementation @Tetsuo-78?

Updated info from Wiimpathty For ex. if you just want to show a clean romset, you'd put all hacks/translations in hidden categories. Adult content same thing. Multi disks, only display one. etc...

Now, something different with another feature. Say you want all Mario from all machines Nes, pc88 etc.

• First create a category mario in categories_v4.ini under [GENERAL] cat18=Mario for instance.
• Create a new button in source_menu.ini combining all the corresponding plugins(the ones that have a mario game) :
