Impossible to load the SAR panel under Ableton Live #54

Hello,

I installed SynchronousAudioRouter_x64_0_13_1.msi on my 64 bit Win10 laptop (Win 10 pro Vers 1803 [17134.345]).

I have Ableton Live suite (9.7.3) as DAW, and a 'Komplete Audio" audio card from Native Instrument, with its own Asio driver.

Under Ableton, I see (under ASIO I/O), both my Komplete Audio card, and the "Synchronuous Audio Router";

but when selecting it, Ableton refuses to load Synchronuous Audio Router,

Ableton Live specifies : "This device only proposes inputs; Ableton needs at least one stereo output channel"

So I am stuck...

Any ways to easily pre-configure SAR with one stereo output, before launching Ableton ?

Or would it be possible to get an installer version that provides SAR with a (eventually mock) stereo output already there ?

Thanks for your help !

I have the same issue.

The issue actually is: Not every DAW or VST Live Host is able to do the first time configuration of SAR

What I have tried, and can not do the configuration: VSTHost by Hermann Seib Pedalboard2 by Niall Moody IL Minihost Modular Topten Software Cantabile

I was able to do the first time configuration in iZotope RX 7.

But I'm also having this issue: Dropdownlist does not drop down on windows 10

But wait, there is another problem after initial configuration. If you add endpoints and try to activate them some applications freeze completely. You can't close them, even from the task manager. You can't even reboot, but only shut down from the physical button on your computer. In what I have tested I saw this with: Pedalboard2 by Niall Moody Topten Software Cantabile

I can confirm this - I've made the initial setup by running reaper trial in administrator mode, it seems to work. After the initial configuration, I can go on and continue using SAR on any software I want.

Add Propellerhead Reason to the list. I worked around it by installing Reaper, configuring SAR then uninstalling Reaper though now I look through the source it seems like there is a standalone config application.

Would it make sense for SAR to default to proxying the first ASIO driver it can find just as a starting point for configuration?

As I don't have Reaper, I tried with some standalone VST I already have installed. And that's fine, I did the first launch with it (Groove agent btw)

I have reaper so I tried this and it didn't work in reaper either. Apparently the "audio device [is closed]" this is the same problem that I have in ableton.
