When there i no Internet connectivity (just shutting down mobile data & wifi is enough to trigger this) SailWave displays the "The stream URL is not valid" warning even for perfectly valid & working URLs.
Switching the connectivity back on is enough to verify that the URL is indeed valid and working and the warning is a false alarm.
