What do you think if we start a spreadsheet where we have several columns like (ram, cache, cpu, price) and then use that to have a "cost per compute" index.

To add, I think there are some critically important non-computer factors:

unlocked openwrt support
contact/support with vendor
radio quality
availability
form factor?

What else?

Turns out Wikipedia has a great comparison table for single board computers. No pricing though.

In the absence of this research, as the time comes closer to deploying on the field, I'm just gonna go with standard, trusted, reliable models:

Intel NUC
Rpi 3b+
