I have a GHC build running currently and will report back when I have confirmed that all is well.

Yes, I have write access to both GitHub and Hackage. Say the word and I will push these changes to both of them.

The CI on https://gitlab.haskell.org/ghc/ghc/-/merge_requests/9717 (which uses this PR) has passed. I'll merge this and make a corresponding Hackage revision.
