I'm torn about this, because I know it'll break if we backpack, but I also don't want to maintain a bunch of manual spec links and miss one occasionally.

FWIW I prefer it the manual way. I was just following the TODO.

Merge or close if you reach a decision. It would be most convenient for me if you did so in the next twelve hours, but no biggie.
