USB access through a homebrew requires kernel mode. At least, that's what
MasterBoy tells me when I try to use it. Issue should be closed.

You don't need to be in Kernel Mode to use the USB while in an
emulator/homebrew, you only need to be in Kernel Mode for that certain
Emulator/Homebrew you're using, I would assume.

Ametric(m0skit0) wouldn't have accepted it if Kernel Mode was needed for the
USB.

My bad, shouldn't talk what I don't know, BUT since MasterBoy was coded to be
used in user-mode, I'm sure if there was a way to use USB in user-mode Brunni
would have implemented it.

Thats if there is a driver in the HBL for it

Original comment by koalaos...@gmail.com on 5 Oct 2010 at 2:17

HBL cannot run a driver. Neither do any game. That's restricted for kernel
mode. And there's USB functions available to call from user mode (like for all
the rest of the hardware).

@ametric then can these functions be added to hbl

From the past little while of me having m33 i have noticed a few things and one
of them is that you need to be in kernal mode to acess the usb, so this is not
possible, this should be taken down!

MY PROOF: When i was using masterboy last night on 5.00-M33-6 it said usb mode
unavalible because i was not in kernal mode, i turned it on and it was avalable!

That's not a definitive proof. Maybe Masterboy uses USB exclusively from kernel
mode. Anyways, VSH uses USB and it's user mode.

I think we should'nt worry much about this issue for patapon 2 users because
there soon going to get a HEN for it

The issue is the same for Patapon or any other game exploit.
