Since a few hours Status blocked #173

Describe the bug

Since a few hours the integration shows blocked:

My "home connect" status says BLOCKED and every entity seems to be unavailable.

And you didn't do nothing? I've rebooted home assistant, off/on my dishwasher, off/on my wifi, and probably more I don't remember.

did nothing, I thought it might be a problem with the API

The home assistant "home connect" integration works, and my "home connect" app on my iPhone works, so it must be a very specific API issue. But as yours got up and running again, I guess I'll panic less and patience more.

@ekutner Are you referencing to the rate limit that is causing the "BLOCKED" message? Seems weird though, as it happened during the night, and I have other API's working fine (phone and standard home assistant integration which uses the same credentials).

BLOCKED, is always because of rate limits. The mobile app is not using the same API at all and as for the other integration I don't know what you mean by same credentials. The rate limits are counted for each client_id separately. It can happen at night if your appliance is getting disconnected and reconnected to the wifi network a lot, causing the integration to make a lot of calls every time it does that. Search for "blocked" in previous issue and you should see all the possible reasons. For example here: #127

Credentials = client_id and client_secret. I'll read up on the old issues, but I guess I'll just have to wait, though it still seems somewhat weird that it is only the "home connect alt" that is having trouble and the home assistant integration does not. I assume they both use same API, and in my case, they use the same credentials, so they should both be rate limited, but does not. And then I wasn't the only one who experienced it at the same time (guess it could be a coincidence). Anyway; I'll get over it.

Fast work around! If you are blocked....

Create a new app on Home Connect developers website and link it to HA configuration.yaml with the new Client ID and Client Secret.
Remove the integration in HA and add it back immediately. (window will popup where you will be asked to login to to your Home Connect account)
Wait a minute and all entities will be back and available!

No reboot is necessary!
