A few of the teams I've recently onboarded to the ELN really like the scheduler/booking feature and have suggested an improvement to make it even more useful: adding an option for the resource owner to accept or reject the booking, similar to the cancel booking feature currently in place.

Ideally, the resource owner would receive a notification (e-mail and/or in the ELN, according to their settings) that the resource they own has been booked and can then accept or reject this booking with an option to add a note to the acceptance or rejection. The requester would then receive a notification of this action.

The booking setting could include an option to enable this feature, since some bookable resources may not require it.

Once the pilot users get a bit more into things, I'll talk to them and see if it makes sense going that route and how to arrange that at the IT Center in Aachen.

This function would also be very interesting for us at Goethe University Frankfurt. In particular, it is about the fact that there are devices that are used by several institutes. Being able to make enquiries for book equipment or measuring rooms in eLabFTW would be a great improvement. I like the idea of handling it like an enquiry. The main person responsible can then check and approve the request and, as the colleague from Aachen says, this would be ideal as an option that can be activated, when it's needed.

@ELN-uzun agreed, we were just discussing sharing and booking equipment in a wider RWTH context and I think such a feature would be very powerful here.
