Change the keyword signalling a function reference from 'function' to 'ref'

Rationale:

• More succint
• Less likely to be confused with a function definition
• Relates (at least slightly) to the idea of 'passing by reference'

This should be a simple change to make, and is unlikely to break much at this stage.
