Not just for 'standby' mode, but also mobilde devices (even Laptops) some publishing policies on the output would be nice to have. Especially with spooling to disk, we can hold back on sending for longer and then publish data only once the machine connects to the correct network.
I agree, if it could spool the data if the the machine is not on an active state, it would be great.

It seems that when
modern standby
is activated, system services can continue running in background in a throttled mode. Supporting this could allow beats to continue collecting data even on this mode.This support could include a reduced use of network to reduce power consumption (i.e. being able to collect metrics every 10s, but only send events to elastic every 5m, or spooling events while the system is on standby).
