Transport.php fix backported into 6.7.x #1108

Following to issue 676, fix is still missing from 6.7.x release

Error Cannot use object of type Elasticsearch\Common\Exceptions\Missing404Exception as array is still encountered in 6.7.

This PR intend to backport Master's fix into previous release 6.7.x and 6.8.x

Since this is a community submitted pull request, a Jenkins build has not been kicked off automatically. Can an Elastic organization member please verify the contents of this patch and then kick off a build manually?
