Discover and Logs explorer currently are using 2 different types of data source selection:

Discover

Allows to select DataViews (Like Lens and other parts of Kibana)

Log Explorer

Allows to select categorized and uncategorized Integrations, its DataViews selection is linking to Discover Bildschirmfoto 2024-04-23 um 10 02 51

One Discover

Our aim is to create a single data source selection experience, that allows

Searching and selecting of Integrations
Searching and selecting of Data Views
Data Views Management Actions
- Managing a Data view
- Adding a Data view
- Adding a field to a Data View
Allows preselecting Integrations / Data Views
Selecting a single Integration/Data View
Allow to select "All logs"
Providing a "Add data" link to Onboarding data

Out of scope for this iteration, but worth to think ahead:

Adding a way to explore indices directly, like the current Data View selector support (When no matching data view is found, indices are searched for matches)
