[Response Ops] Bulk delete takes a long time and can time out #182936

When trying to bulk delete 500 rules in a setup where network traffic goes through a proxy with a 2 minute timeout, I'm consistently seeing 502 backend closed connection errors because the bulk deletion takes longer than 2 minutes. Can we make this bulk deletion more efficient? Alternatively, should we limit the number of rules that can be bulk deleted in one request?
