[Search] Include Elastic Agents & Policies in Global Search #184281

Describe the feature:

When searching via the Global Search at the top of the Kibana UI, results for enrolled agents and agent policies would be included.

Describe a specific use case for the feature:

This would allow quicker access, with fewer clicks, to an agent or policy. When working within a feature such as Discovery, Observability, or Security I sometimes find I need to go look at an agent or adjust a policy. Being able to search would add a lot of convenience. This would be extra helpful for cases where I need to log in from a mobile device for something relatively urgent and the side bar isn't available. I've seen this on Observability and Stack Management. Unsure if this is intended due to screen size or actually a bug. In those cases I cannot access the button to get into fleet and must use the Global Search. Going to an agent directly would speed that up. Even when at a PC, this would be easier & faster than having to filter on agents to get to the one I want.

One issue I could foresee is, depending on how the agents are named, large deployments having many agents preventing other results from showing. Workarounds may include only showing agents when filtered on type:Agent or ranking agents lower than some of the more prominent features in results.
