At the moment, we do not do a full test run against Kibana w/ pointer compression enabled. This leaves us without assurance that Kibana works correctly when using pointer compression. This lack of test coverage led to a issue in Serverless that triggered an emergency release to disable pointer compression. To ensure that Kibana continues to function correctly with pointer compression enabled, we should create a Buildkite pipeline that runs daily and run the full tests suite against Kibana using pointer compression.
