Reminder that these "+1" comments are extremely unhelpful and only adds clutter here and to people's notification feeds. Github has graciously provided a "react to" feature that you can use to show support for the original comment describing the feature request that does the job much better.

We are working on a new implementation of map visualizations and are not planning to add any new features to the existing implementation. We will take this suggestion under consideration for the new app.

Found this blog post, https://blog.mapbox.com/clustering-properties-with-mapbox-and-html-markers-bb353c8662ba, showing how this can be implemented using Markers instead of circle layer.
I prefixed the title with [Maps]. Should this be added, it will end up in the Maps-app and not the coordinate map visualization.
