Hi, where would the user go to disable this completion feature? What would suggest it looks like on the screen?
It could be on the "Options" link that is on the right side of the search field (when I click it, it shows "Syntax Options")
Can we have an option to disable this feature? It can be put under Options > Autocomplete (or Options > Search/General/etc.) and it can look something like this or way simpler:
Describe the feature: When typing queries, Kibana will "helpfully" add the complementary character (e.g.,
"
for"
,)
for(
). This impedes typing, particularly when editing an improperly formed query into a valid one (e.g.,message:test"
intomessage:"test"
), since Kibana will add an extra character that is neither correct nor desired. There may be ways to fix this feature, but I'd personally appreciate a way to disable it entirely, since I'd like for exactly what I type to be used as my query. Describe a specific use case for the feature: User can disable the "helpful" completion of quotes/parentheses and type queries without them being modified in any way.
