@w33ble Looks like the kibana-extra changes are working out, so got some time to review this? Would be great to get this in and cut a new major.

I haven't tried the change yet, but I haven't seen much noise about it, so I assume it's working as expected 😉.

PR looks good, but you'll also need to update the compatibility chart in the readme. Add that and then we can cut a new major. If you'd prefer to do that in a new PR, that's fine too.
