Thanks for putting this together @constanca-m.
@alaudazzi can you chime in and remind me what the difference is between these two doc sets and what the plan is moving forward?
The ESF Guide is more general and explains how to install and troubleshoot ESF, while the ESF Tutorial focuses on how to ingest VPC flow logs.
Moving forward, we could consider the same approach we adopted for Firehose -- that is -- combine the two doc sets and remove the [ESF Guide].(https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/esf/current/aws-deploy-elastic-serverless-forwarder.html)
Hey @alaudazzi. So if we try to follow the same approach we follow for Firehose, I believe the structure would look like this:
However, we have different ways to deploy ESF: using a script, SAR or now this repository. Considering all different alternatives, can these Monitor tutorials just include the terraform code from this repository? And were should this following information go:
Hi Team, just wondering if there is anything new on this issue. The customer has been pushing for updates.
Hey @TomonoriSoejima. I believe the only thing missing is the documentation, but I am in need of some guidance there. I will try to push this a bit more forward this week, and hopefully advance more in that area next week.
[x] Add GitHub workflows to check: https://github.com/elastic/terraform-elastic-esf/pull/9
[x] Add CODEOWNERS file: https://github.com/elastic/terraform-elastic-esf/pull/9
[x] Fix bug: event source needs to depend on the upload of the
config.yaml
file. Otherwise, the lambda can get triggered before ESF can access that file. https://github.com/elastic/terraform-elastic-esf/pull/10[x] Add custom option for lambda timeout: https://github.com/elastic/terraform-elastic-esf/pull/13
[x] Update official documentation: https://github.com/elastic/elastic-serverless-forwarder/pull/730
[ ] It would be good to also update or create a new option in Monitor Amazon Web Services (AWS) with Elastic Serverless Forwarder
[x] More testing
