I had a look at that page years ago when making Dragon UnPACKer and found that most information was wrong and almost unusable for PIG files (rest of DDN site is really good).
Anyway I will try to look again, they may have fixed it.

Perhaps you could add support for the PIG files Descent and Descent 2 use to store textures and some other files. There is detailed information on the format at the following site.
