Feature request: more config options for gestures/screen presses

I really find the 3x3 grid config quite useful, but wish there were other 
options for configuring what long presses do. I'd like to make a long press be 
equivalent to G+movement.

I'd love the center point presses be configurable, maybe short could be "," and 
long could be "x".

Another useful gesture to introduce could be sliding from the center of the 
screen to one of the cardinal points.  I'd probably map this to t+ movement, 
but more flexibility in mapping gestures would generally go a long way to 
improving playability.

I may take a look at the code myself, time permitting, but thought I'd log my 
request here in case someone else gets to it first.

Seconded!  On a desktop computer and keyboard, I use g + direction often.  I'd 
love to have the same for Android.  (Galaxy S)

Additionally, I think the stair movement should be a long press: I keep having 
trouble on stairs with items on them.  I want to pick up, but I have to switch 
to the symbol keyboard.
