I am thinking that using SVG output and an SVG viewer might be simpler to 
implement and maintain than a "gnuplot" replacement. 

I am proposing that plot commands etc. only update the data structure with the 
figure, and that the drawnow command exports the figure data to svg and opens a 
default svg viewer. 

(avoiding the need for AddiPlot).
