Traffic Jam Assist is not functional, which means that below 40mph/65kmh, with adaptive cruise control engaged, the car will not provide lane guidance if there is a car in front of it. Above 40mph lane guidance always works with adaptive cruise control, and it works under 40mph (with ACC still) as long as there is no car in front.
When Traffic Jam Assist fails to start, the lane assist/guidance/TJA indicators flash green approximately every second but never engage. No faults are shown. When driving continuously with adaptive cruise control engaged for longer periods of time (for example in a slow-moving traffic jam), every few minutes the car will incorrectly tell you to take over steering (even if the steering wheel has not been let go).
Car this happened on: 2021 e-tron Sportback Prestige (US), produced 12/2020.
Resolution
The car is in service for the second time with the exact same issue, as the dealer is failing to diagnose the problem. Audi of America is involved, but does not want to comment beyond what the dealer service is telling them.
