One possible source of capacity data for Italian subzones is the Italian electricity market operator, GME (Gestore dei Mercati Energetici). They provide various market-related data, including capacity information, on their website.
You can visit the GME website (www.mercatoelettrico.org) and navigate to the "Mercato e Dati" section. Under this section, you will find market data categories such as "Programma di Produzione e Consumo" (Production and Consumption Program) or "Gestione del Sistema" (System Operation). These categories may contain the capacity data you are looking for.
You can find the capacity by province in Terna statistical section: https://www.terna.it/en/electric-system/statistical-data-forecast/evolution-electricity-market/capacity-generation-plants
Description
We are currently working on revamping the capacity data collection and we are looking to get data for all zones from different authoritative data sources.
You can read more about this project in our wiki: Capacity update process
For European zones, we will be collecting data from ENTSO-e. It is also only way to get granular capacity data for all bidding zones.
Unfortunately it seems like capacity data for the Italian bidding zones is missing from the ENTSO-e Transparency Platform
Would anyone know of a data source where we could get capacity data for the Italian subzones? I've looked at Terna but was not able to find such information.
Thanks in advance 😊
