Unable to install "Export templates" on Pencil 1.3.2 #378

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install Pencil 1.3.2 on Windows 7 64
2. Download Export Templates from
http://pencil.evolus.vn/en-US/Downloads/Templates.aspx
3. Try to export in PDF
4. Click on "Manage templates"
5. Select Export to Text documents
6. Click on Install new template

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
A new template must be shown in the template list.

Instead of that, nothing happens after zip selection

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Pencil 1.3.2 on Windows 7 64

The same action works perfectly on Pencil 1.2 on the same computer

Same here. I am unable to install ANY templates whatsoever. I too am using
Pencil 1.3.2, and I experience the problem either on Windows 7 32 bit or on
Windows XP.

Hello,

Is there a "quick fix" we can use to solve this ? like ticket 373 for the
stencil loading ?

Same issue for me too. This happens on all native installs for Pencil that I
have tried where the Firefox add-on has been installed first. It has happened
on Mac OSX and Windows.

I'm unable to export to any format whatsoever. Apparently there's a problem
with the SVG rasterizer.
The only workaround I found is to copy/paste into an Inkscape SVG document, but
of course all properties are lost and a lot of editing is again required :-(

Pencil 1.3.2 (Standalone and Firefox 8.0.1)
Windows 7 64 // Windows XP 32

Same here on Mac OSX.
I worked around by replacing "resource:app" by "ProfD" in
content/pencil/definition/externalTemplateManager.js. That is : templates are
thus installed for current user only.

The solution posted by "psychol...@gmail.com" on issue #373 solves this as well:

>After some more digging and experiencing a similar issue with the export
templates, I found the best way is to change "resource:app" to "CurProcD".
>
>So inside of exportTemplateManager.js, collectionManager.js and
privateCollectionManager.js (inside /app/content/pencil/definition) replace
"resource:app" with "CurProcD".
>
>After that it seems to work normally

Hi People,

There is an easy way around it.
Export it by useing odt template then in libre office you can basically export
in any format you like. Save graphics for instance will give you 17 types of
image options.
