This is very common functionality and should be much easy to find solution. I spent a bunch of time to find all this and make it working.

@b1rdex I agree in general, it's on my TODO list to add a bunch of common operations for Squirrel Hooks as a library people can use so they don't have to reinvent the wheel

@b1rdex thanks for PR. There are two problems:

we use ES2015 right now, so I'll be grateful if you could rewrite your pr in es2015
we moved the common login to electron/windows-installer. So if you have time, please, create new PR agains that package.

Anyway, if you haven't time to do it, please, let me know. Thanks for your work!
