Loading a larger file consistently crashes Comic Reader Ultimate #3

Hi there---I am sorry if I am doing things the wrong way. I created the github account just now primarily to provide feedback on this program.

I am a new Linux user--just got a Steam Deck running in desktop mode. I am trying to learn (and read some sweet comics). The file I seem to be having issues with is 760MiB. I will do some further testing with smaller files when I can make the time. Is there more I should submit here?

Again apologies. I didn't wish to be the first reviewer on Discovery and have it be negative. My intent is to share & collaborate--not be a Karen.

I haven't tried it on SteamDeck at all yet. I'll give it a try if I get time. It's probably a combination of:

  1. Big file.
  2. Low spec system
  3. CRU is optimized to be fast rather than for resource usage.

You could try loading with no comic (or smaller comic) and hit esc and set 'low vram mode' in the options.

You could run it from command line and see what the crash output it:

 flatpak run uk.co.electronstudio.ComicReaderUltimate
