Oops! I wrote <package name> mailing list
but it got parsed out as HTML!!!
Also, point very much taken about the conclusion. Clearly not my strong point!!! =\
Refer to "Introducing GitHub" book when talking about GitHub.
@stefanv, Meg mentioned this too. Which book, specifically?
Notes/clarifications from @stefanv
@hdashnow Effective Computation in Physics is by Anthony Scopatz and Katie Huff.
Yep, but is it the correct book? On 22 Jul 2015 11:51 am, "Juan Nunez-Iglesias" notifications@github.com wrote:

@hdashnow yes, it is. =)
So, I'm not quite sure where you want me to reference this book: http://shop.oreilly.com/product/0636920033424.do
Maybe someone who's read it can put in the sentence recommending it?
Similarly, scipy-lectures.github.io
Okay, I think I've done all I can with these preface suggestions.
These three remaining points need someone who knows what they want to say about them and where they fit in (presumably @stefanv). So maybe just make your own PR for:
Some additional feedback from my Dad:
I found ch 0 was a smooth and easy read which didn't say too much or say to little.
Completed all suggestions here that I can as of #72. Just need @stefanv to do the last 3 above, namely: Link to scipy-lectures.github.io Mention python package index (known as the cheese shop) Mention "Effective Computation in Physics" book by Katie Huff et al.
In The Rosie Effect, Graeme Simsion twists the conventions of the word "elegant" around.
Most would use it to describe the visual simplicity of something or someone stylish or graceful.
Say, the first iPhone. Instead, just such an object (the wedding dress) is compared to delightfully concise code. The kind of code that you rarely encounter, yet know immediately when you do.
I think this is a fantastic "hook", but it can be more clear. You say that he twists the word elegant around. But from what to what? From saying something is stylish or graceful to... ?
What is "IHOP"?
@stefanv http://www.ihop.com/ I love that joke, BTW
:) Should we replace it with an American shop?

It is an American shop. I'm doing another preface PR now, and spelling it out so that non-USA-pancake-lovers will get it :P It will help when it is published in another languages ;)

@stefanv can we close this issue?
All done here!
This is amazing. =D
Ironically it would have been clearer if I'd used the Aussie equivalent, The Pancake Parlour. =D
We're not advertising for scientologists in our book!

@hdashnow and again I learn something new thanks to the book! =)
I failed to introduce you to another religious chain, In 'n Out, during your visit. Next time, for sure! You can try the hidden menu items, such as "animal style".

@stefanv you forget that I did my PhD in LA. ;) My preference for fries is "light". Having said that I was unaware of any religious affiliations!
I keep forgetting that, yes. Not that I should be confused by the Australian accent, given my own ;)
Moving these items from below, so they are tracked properly (edit 6 Jan 2015 by @hdashnow):
