menus don't take mouse input after they show, sometimes
after showing some tooltips the main window as well (hovering a button triggers no state change for example), clicking on it fixes it.

tooltips: confirmed. Steps to reproduce:
- make the title column in the lower part of the paned browser narrow.
- move the mouse up and down the column, triggering tooltips fast
- after one second or so, the tooltips don't show anymore
- hover the column head: no more hover effect
- move the mouse out of the window
- move the mouse back in the window: it works again
menus: can't reproduce. are these the main (osx native) menus on the top of the screen or context menus?

I meant the context menus, but now I can't reproduce either. Maybe it's related to the tooltips.

For the tooltips: They are one big giant hack, so likely there is a bug in there. I'll look into it.
