Add LoRa mesh communication #4634

Your use case

What would you like to do?

I want to have an offline LoRa mesh communication available in Element., maybe it could be interoperable with meshtastic.

If possible there should be an Element bridge in the open-street-maps app or the ATAK app like T.REX ARMS is suggesting, for critical off grid situations. If a LoRa voice communication like QMesh would be available, it would be incredible.

Why would you like to do it?

This would provide reliable off grid communication. It would revolutionize communication, and give us tools we can depend upon for extreme situations.

Additional context

For the mesh networks, there should be an option, that mesh groups could be linked through the internet connection of members who are connected to the internet.

Check out Beechat, it seems like a solid p2p communications option. It also is ATAK compatible.

This is the wrong place to request this. Element is a client, which relies on the Matrix protocol and network.

If you want to see Matrix over LoRa, please open a feature request on the Matrix side!
