Option to disable pictures and media preview in notifications #5529

Your use case

What would you like to do?

I would like to disable inline pictures showing in the system notifications.

Why would you like to do it?

I only want to have a quick glance at the pending messages. Pictures just take too much space in the notification area and force me to scroll more.

How would you like to achieve it?

It would be nice to add an option to disable this and only show text in notifications.

Have you considered any alternatives?

Disabling all notifications, but that's not practical.

Did this ever get addressed? I also would like the option to disable image preview
