Unable to disable spell checking #5670

Steps to reproduce

  1. Go to settings
  2. look for spell checking options

Outcome

What did you expect?

I should see an option to opt out of spell checking.

What happened instead?

There is none.

Additional info: the spell check pop-up is VERY annoying for me. Every time I click in the middle of a (underlined) word it just does not let me do what I intend to do (i.e. navigate my cursor to that exact position).

Are you sure you cannot disable spell checking on your keyboard app settings?

On our side, we could check if it's technically possible for an app to change this setting/behavior.

Ok, I found that I can disable the spell checker in system settings. I did not know this is a system feature as no other apps report spelling errors to me.
