Spaces sidebar is very uncomfortable #5133

Comparatively to telegram and discord, the spaces sidebar is only a part of that sidebar (with it only being a "section" of that sidebar), this makes scrolling spaces uncomfortable and unintuitive compared to those other messengers.

Please expand spaces to the full sidebar size, and also abide with design from web wrt the sidebar, as the user is a very large part of it, while it easily could be just a small section at the top.

I can't see a spaces bar equivalent in telegram, am I missing something?

...huh, I think that you're right, I can't recall what I would've meant with that, nor can I find the equivalent functionality (maybe they revised it?)

In any case, I hope that what I tried to explain there came over well; I'm asking to make spaces a part of scrolling the entire sidebar, instead of a subsection that scrolls awkwardly.

I briefly thought that I meant slack, but they have the following getup;

This, technically, has the same principles as element iOS has at the moment, but for some reason, the slack one feels less harrowing to navigate. (Maybe because I don't switch between workplaces as much as I would switch between spaces?)

Yeah, it definitely came across well and I totally understand - just wanting to check I wasn't missing anything from the references.

I think you're right, they're kind of the same but I think Slack has less non-workspaces content at the top which gives the sidebar a much clearer purpose. Thanks for the references 👍

Just taken a quick look at this and I think there are some options to make it a bit simpler and clearer. I'm adding some WIP here in case it helps spark any interest/future designs.
