1.10.12 Crash to springboard when creating new direct chat #7577

Steps to reproduce

More than half of my IOS users are not able to start a new direct chat from Element/IOS 1.10.12 anymore. The app crashes to the springboard

  1. In the overview click on the "new" icon, then select "Unterhaltung" (Direct Chat)
  2. Select the user you want to start the chat with
  3. You see the overview screen with both users listed
  4. As aoon as "start" is tapped, the app crashes immediately to the springboard. No room is created.

Outcome

What did you expect?

The room should be created and the user should be in the chat room

What happened instead?

App crash to spring board

Note: I already sent a log from an affected iPhone on Saturday. Does currently not happen on my personal iPhone, so I can't send "on demand" logs.

Could not reproduce the issue, could you please send us logs for the crash?

Also were you using the normal editor or the rich text editor, as the text composer for messages?
