Your use case
What would you like to do?
The Info/People/Threads/Extensions sidebar should probably have a close button, like the one you see if you're inside a thread.
Why would you like to do it?
People open the sidebar for various reasons - even by accident - and then get confused on how they can close it again. Clicking the toolbar buttons as a toggle is not universally intuitive, especially if you opened the sidebar by accident.
