Error modal about rows not found appearing over and over in Riot after a search, requiring a refresh to fix

Description

After performing a search for "query_auth" in #dendrite-dev:matrix.org, I scrolled up through the results and ended up getting a modal with an error message like "no rows found" or something. Foolishly I did not take a screenshot, but am attaching logs in the hopes that it will show the issue.

A new modal seemed to be spawning a few times a second, and clicking OK rapidly would eventually get down through them, but then more just kept coming. The only solution was to refresh.

Steps to reproduce

• Search in a big room
• Start scrolling up

Logs being sent: yes

Version information

• Platform: web
• Browser: Firefox v70.0a1
• OS: Debian Buster
• URL: riot.im/develop

I haven't seen this since, so going to assume it's no longer an issue.
