Can't hide an active Jitsi call #22210

Steps to reproduce

  1. Start a jitsi call
  2. Hide the widget
  3. The widget becomes a float window automatically

Outcome

What did you expect?

When I hide the jitsi, it's hiden.

What happened instead?

It becomes a float window.

That's the expected behavior, as otherwise it becomes nearly impossible to know why your microphone/webcam is being used, where the audio is coming from, or how to hang up. I don't believe there are plans to change this, unless we someday use something other than a PiP view to indicate an active call.

Firefox does indicate that a tab is using the micphone/camera and playing audio. I prefer to use the Firefox's pip which is more powerful. An option would be very helpful.
