Make mentions more visible for folks with notifs turned off. #281

Mjark missed a whole bunch of comms due to having desktop notifs off for decluttering, but then no way of seeing that he'd been binged. issue #269 could help a bit; other suggestions are to stop autoscroll at the point that you are mentioned; show your own 'read up-to marker' to force you to read scrollback; or do a FB notification summary badge thing (possibly the same as the home screen)?

I wonder if having the bing's stay active until I explicitly dismiss them would be a good idea? Essentially they would be a "todo list" of things that I needed to respond to, which I could then dismiss once I had responded to them.

Amandine: About making mentions more visible: another option is to display a "go-to-mention" button above the text input field (like "go back to top" on a web page) which would be turned on only if you have unread mentions. We could have the same for "go to last unread"

As per #519, at the least we need a favicon and toggling the title tag.

Dave: for now, this is just a matter of showing badges for unread notifications. In future we can turn it into a full notification index page etc. It also covers the whole "self-read-up-to-marker" bug. Once done I suggest we drop priority & milestone to track future improvements to the UX.

I'm going to close this issue now as unread notification badges have been added to more places and for spaces as well. Please reopen with clear acceptance criteria if there is still anything outstanding
