Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Element has an official install method for Debian-based systems. Unfortunately, it does not work on Linux distros like Arch Linux, Fedora, openSUSE, Manjaro and Gentoo. The best we have are unverified community-maintained distribution channels such as AUR (Arch-specific) or Flathub (universal). From a security perspective, it'd be better to get releases straight from Element.
I'm aware there have been discussions about specific formats. If certain distribution channels are too hard to accommodate, that's alright, but it'd be good to have an official alternative.
Describe the solution you'd like
Any official distribution channel covering most popular Linux distros: AppImage, Flatpak, a binary installer, if needed Snap, or additional distro-specific distribution packages like RPM.
Describe alternatives you've considered
I tried extracting the relevant DEB package from the repo and converting it to a package format my distro supports but that didn't work.
