FR: Show online status #2486

Hi

THis is mainly an Android request but it would be nice if this is also possible in other platforms.

It would be very nice if the online status of a person can be seen somewhere in the main ui without clicking in the user's room then opening the room details.

I would say most messanging apps provides that kind of detail and is useful when conversing.

Unfortunatly, the presence API has been disabled server side for performance reason.

Thanks, that makes sense. Would it possible to at least see if the person read/saw the message or not?

The problem is that it is hard to tell if the person interacted with the message or the room, that seems a bit better on the desktop app.

The read receipt are here for that, and should work on Android. Can't you see them?

not sure, I do not see receipts. I need to what that is
