[Payment Method] Bank transfer #11

I expect that when downloading an curated elementary OS using AppCenter, I will have a chance to support the project financially, even if I don't want to support/trust the big proprietary vendors like PayPal or Stripe.

Anonymous payment methods would also be desirable for people for whom this is important for certain reasons.

See https://github.com/elementary/website/issues/2160 for reference

To quote @danrabbit:

Until Stripe supports this payment method, we're unable to implement it

Hello, thanks for your feedback! For me, however, it does not meet the point of my request. It's not about that bank transfers are possible if Stripe allows it. My request is exactly about getting away from such dubious providers and offering real alternative solutions. For example, through an account to which people can transfer money. A real bank account, then. No more stripe ;)

I also think a limited liability company like elementary LLC can open/own a normal bank account, right?

I just see that there are ethical banks in North America as well that might be a good place for such an account. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethical_banking#North_America and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Alliance_for_Banking_on_Values#Members[2]

@4jNsY6fCVqZv it's not a question of "Can elementary open a bank account," but of how all of the tooling and APIs get integrated into AppCenter. We partner with Stripe explicitly because they do the heavy lifting for processing, security, compliance, taxes, etc.
