[oding-beta] Regression: power settings ignored by login screen #704

Open gvansanden opened 3 years ago

gvansanden commented 3 years ago

What Happened

I disabled suspend on inactivity on my Nuc, it is always plugged in of course, but it still suspends either when I'm not logged in or even when the display is locked.

Expected Behavior

The system should not suspend

Steps to Reproduce

  1. install elementary
  2. Set the power settings to never suspend with the admin account
  3. log out or reboot
  4. Wait 15 minutes, the system suspends

Note that the workarround I used on elementary 5 on the CLI as the lightdm user still works

Platform Information

Elementary 6.0 beta updated to the latest release 2021-06-02

I'm having a possibly related problem on Odin (non-beta): the login screen ignores the auto display brightness preference, and display brightness changes even if disabled this feature.

Expected behavior: display brightness doesn't change on the login screen.

Prerequisite: a laptop with a light sensor.

Steps to reproduce:

Screen brightness immediately changes after the screen is locked. When I log back in, the adjusted brightness remains.
