Going to post this here, as all of the multi country issues are linking here.
Stripe will automatically convert foreign (non USD) currencies. Sadly, because Mexico and Brazil are still in beta / testing, they only work in their native currency. There is nothing we can do about this. Mexico and Brazil users will need to wait until Stripe brings them out of testing for them to work with USD. Currenly Stripe testing accounts are disabled on houston to avoid confusion.
From Stripe support:
Thanks for reaching out. I'd be happy to shed some light on this.
The reason for the error is that Brazilian Stripe users can only accept charges in Brazilian Real [1]. Whether you create destination or direct charges on behalf of users in Brazil, they will have to be in BRL.
I understand this may not be the answer you would be hoping for. Let me know if you have any further questions or feedback on this.
Thank you for your quick reply. I have another quick question. Is this restriction only while it's in beta? Do you guys plan on allowing other currencies once you fully release?
Thanks for getting back to me.
We do hope to be able introduce more currency support once Brazil moves out of preview. We have no timelines to share but you can keep an eye out for updates on our blog and currencies pages. You can find those here:

Please get right back to me if I can be of any further assistance.
Reading through Stripe docs, it sounds like if we use this parameter it'll magically make conversion fees go away and reduce false fraud detection problems
