Dark theme not being respected by eOS apps #1272

What Happened?

I'm currently using Pantheon on NixOS, and after a recent update I found that no matter what I tried, the elementaryOS apps (i.e. Switchboard, Files, etc.) weren't respecting the dark mode setting. Even after manually changing it, it would simply revert back as soon as I exited Switchboard. If I'm in the wrong spot, please let me know.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Change the theme to dark in Settings -> Appearance
  2. Exit Switchboard
  3. Reopen Switchboard or Files or any other eOS app.

Expected Behavior

Dark mode should be respected, especially on the eOS apps (not having the issue with any other apps at the moment).

Apparently, after messing around enough, the issue appears to have fixed itself. I have no idea to what effect this will remain, but I will close the issue for now.
