The setting Security & Privacy --> Locking has a toggle for Lock on Suspend but this does not discriminate cases.
If I pack up the laptop, I surely want it to lock.
If I leave the lid open, I would prefer a setting to not lock (which would allow me to suspend faster, and have more benefit from battery life and be easier on the planet). This would typically be the home situation, or a known-safe office space.
Proposal
Add an Except when the lid is open or Only when the lid closes toggle below the Lock on Suspend option. Default behaviour should probably be the current.
