Location services problem #178

Open reddernoon opened 4 months ago

reddernoon commented 4 months ago

What Happened?

After a fresh install of Horus : Nimbus app is stuck with the loading icon. Also in Date & Time, "Based on location" doesn't get time when activated. I think it is a geolocation problem, that's why I report here:

geoclue[1145]: Failed to query location: Not Found

Steps to Reproduce

Check that location services is active in "Security & Privacy". Run nimbus.

Expected Behavior

The UI is unresponsive and displays a loading icon. We should see the weather, or an error message.

OS Version

7.x (Horus)

Software Version

Latest release (I have run all updates)

Unfortunately the only provider for geolocation is now discontinued due to patent issues… https://discourse.mozilla.org/t/retiring-the-mozilla-location-service/128693
