Can't edit elementor template with BP Page set as home page #8551

Prerequisites

Description

We are trying to resolve one issue with BP Pages as set as home page of WP and then we go to edit the Elementor templates and it doesn't work. It gives the error like Sorry, the content area was not found in your page. You must call the_content function in the current template, in order for Elementor to work on this page. https://www.loom.com/share/a168760a79c1468fbf0826636fde567b

Steps to reproduce

  1. Install BuddyPress and activate install all pages for BP
  2. Go to WP menu Settings -> Reading -> Your homepage displays
  3. Set the option Your homepage displays -> A static page (select below)
  4. Set the option Home Page, any BP page that was created while activating BP. for example Activity Page
  5. Go to Elementor Templates -> Edit with Elementor and boom error!!! (I am not even editing that activity page it is just normal template)

Isolating the problem

Is there any way of knowing if and when this issue will be fixed?

I am also facing these types of issues with BuddyBoss Platform Plugin conflicts with Elementor.

arielk commented 4 years ago

Sorry for the delay. I tried to reproduce this issue but everything works fine for me, so right now I close the issue. If you still get the error please try to deactivate all other plugins and LMK.

neylwalecki commented 4 years ago

@arielk the issue persists, unfortunately.

Since some months have passed again and the bug unfortunately still exists: What is the current status of the Elementor team? I am currently building a social intranet based on BuddyBoss & Elementor Pro and this bug is really a showstopper for me.

djibouti33 commented 3 years ago

Any feedback on this from the Elementor team? This is an absolute showstopper for us. 2 months into development of our social network using Elementor, and we've come to a complete stop because of this. It seems the Elementor team has no intention of fixing this issue.

Support has been helpful, and even made a video showing the problem we're facing (can't edit with Elementor using a page that's been designated as a BuddyBoss component), but they won't give any timeline.

BuddyBoss even lists Elementor Pro as a supported plugin.

Has anyone been able to find a workaround?
